CHATTOGRAM, June 21, 2026 (BSS)- Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali stated that solely relying on law
enforcement is insufficient for establishing a drug-free nation and combating drug issues; it is essential to cultivate moral values and foster social
resistance.

He made these remarks while serving as the chief guest at a seminar entitled "Youth's Tasks and Challenges in Building a Drug-Free Bangladesh", organised
by the Narcotics Control Department, Chattogram Metro (South) Office, held at the Government City College Auditorium in the city on Sunday (June 21).

The CMP Commissioner emphasized that the family serves as the primary and most significant institution for social resistance. By instilling moral
education, a sense of responsibility, and human values in children from their families, it becomes feasible to effectively combat drug addiction.

He further noted that engaging youth in constructive activities can help shield society from the drug menace.

The seminar was presided over by Abu Saleh Mohammad Nayem Uddin, Principal of Government City College while Md. Zahid Hossain Molla, Additional Director of
the Chattogram Divisional Office of the Narcotics Control Department, Professor Jasim Uddin Ahmed, Vice-Principal of Government City College, among
others, addressed the function as special guests.

The discussant for the event was Professor Mohammad Alamgir, head of the Department of Political Science.
