FENI, June 20, 2026 (BSS) – Police has arrested seven suspected members of an inter-district robber gang along with sharp weapons during a drive in the Mahipal area of the district.

The arrestees were identified as Khorshed Alam Noyon, Anwar Hossain Bhasani, Md Russel, Abdul Kader, Md Dulal Miah, Md Asif and Rakib Hossain.

Police said the arrests were made near Shahin Academy School on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at around 2:30 am on Friday following a tip-off that a group of robbers had gathered there to commit robbery.

Police recovered two iron daggers (kirich), two knives, an iron rod and a wrench from their possession.

The suspects hail from different areas of Feni, Cumilla and Noakhali districts, police said.

A case has been filed with Feni Model Police Station in this connection. The arrestees were later sent to jail by a court.
