Argentine ambassador meets IGP, discusses enhanced security cooperation

DHAKA, June 20, 2026 (BSS) - Argentine Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcelo Carlos Cesa met Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ali Hossain Fakir at the Police Headquarters in the capital this afternoon.

The meeting was cordial, where the Argentine envoy emphasized strengthening security cooperation between the Bangladesh Police and relevant authorities. 

He also expressed interest in highlighting Bangladesh's strong support for Argentina during FIFA World Cup events on global platforms.

The IGP welcomed the ambassador and underscored the importance of enhancing mutual cooperation between the police forces of both countries, particularly in the field of security coordination.

He also appreciated the ambassador's interest in highlighting Bangladesh's football passion internationally.

Senior officials of the Bangladesh Police were present during the meeting.
