JnU holds 'Capacity Building' training for junior faculty

DHAKA, June 21, 2026 (BSS) - The closing and certificate distribution ceremony of a four-day training program titled 'Capacity Building', organized for the junior faculty members of Jagannath University (JnU), was held today.

The program was organized by the university's Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at the Vice-Chancellor's office conference room.

Speaking as the chief guest, JnU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Rais Uddin said there is no alternative to developing skilled human resources to take any institution forward. Such training plays a vital role in enabling a teacher to perform professional duties efficiently.

He noted various sessions of the training detailed professional skills, administrative capacity and diverse aspects of teaching methods. Since young teachers will play crucial roles as future policymakers and decision-makers, continuous training programs are essential to develop their expertise and leadership qualities, he added.

Speaking as the special guest, Treasurer Prof. Dr. Sabina Sharmin said that by closely following each session of the four-day training, it is possible to gain a comprehensive understanding of various university operations.

A total of 22 sessions were conducted during the four-day training program, where 27 lecturers of the university successfully completed the training. The sessions were facilitated by resource persons experienced in various fields.

IQAC Director Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman presided over the ceremony, while Additional Director Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jamir Hossain delivered the welcome speech. 

Deans of different faculties, the Controller of Examinations and relevant officials, along with the participating teachers, were present at the function. Certificates were distributed among the participants at the end of the ceremony.
