DHAKA, Feb 8, 2025 (BSS) - The government has decided to start a countrywide crackdown of the joint forces "Operation Devil Hunt" from today to bring culprits to book and maintain law and order.

The decision was taken on Friday night in a joint meeting of the law enforcement agencies following Friday's terror attack on the student-people in Gazipur district.

"The operation is set to start in Gazipur and elsewhere across the country from today," said a press release of the Home Ministry.

Some people were critically injured by the terrorists of the fallen fascists (in Gazipur) on Friday night, it said.

Home Adviser Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury this morning vowed to take stern action against those involved in the heinous attack on the student-people in Gazipur district while visiting the injured students at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) here.

"None involved in the attack on the student-people (in Gazipur), will not be spared. We are taking legal action against them. All responsible for the attack have been exposed to justice," he said.

The Home Adviser also said he has already instructed all concerned to ensure maximum punishment of the attackers.

The student-people came under attack by the Awami League leaders and activists at the Gaziupur residence of former Liberation War affairs minister and Awami League leader AKM Mozammel Haque on Friday.
