Eid jamaat to be held at 8:30am at National Eidgah

DHAKA, March 28, 2025 (BSS) - The main jamaat of Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at 8.30am at the National Eidgah in the capital.

If the weather is unfavorable, the main congregation will be held at 9 am at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

A press release of the Ministry of Religious Affairs today said that if the schedule of Eid congregation changes, it will be widely broadcast on electronic media. 

Besides, the ministry has asked Dhaka South City Corporation, Press Information Department (PID), Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar to make arrangements to broadcast the schedule of Eid congregations of famous mosques in Dhaka city and the schedule of the main Eid congregations in larger districts on different mass media including Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television.

A committee comprising representatives of the Cabinet Division, Islamic Foundation, SSF, DMP Commissioner, Meteorological Department, SPARSO and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, with the divisional commissioner of Dhaka as the convener, will be formed to take an immediate decision on shifting the main Eid congregation to Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in case of inclement weather. 

The committee will take measures to shift the Eid congregation to Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at any time before the scheduled time of the main congregation due to inclement weather.

The Islamic Foundation or district administration will collect the schedule of Eid congregations in famous mosques in Dhaka city and the main congregations in larger districts and inform all channels including Bangladesh Betar, Bangladesh Television before the day of Eid. 

Bangladesh Betar, Bangladesh Television and the PID will take arrangements for the broadcast.

Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims, will be held on March 31 or April 1, depending on the sighting of the moon.
