DHAKA, April 5, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Ambassador to Mexico Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey has welcomed the meeting between Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a "significant moment" for Bangladesh-India relations.

"Bangladesh is reclaiming its rightful place on the global stage with a sovereign and courageous foreign policy-one that is direct, focused, balanced, and nuanced," he said in a post from his verified Facebook account.

The envoy said it is encouraging to see big neighbour India is recognising Bangladesh with a fresh approach and deeper understanding.

"I hope the Indian government is realising the will of the Bangladeshi people," read the post.

Mushfiqul said that this was the kind of diplomacy we must uphold-one that strengthens regional ties and positions Bangladesh as an assertive and respected player in global affairs.

"The future is ours to shape," he added.

Prof Yunus and Modi had the first bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok on Friday.
