DHAKA, April 28, 2025 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain today said that the government has decided to translate 'Fatawa-e-Darul Uloom Deoband', a compilation of Islamic legal opinions (Fatawas), into Bengali.

"It will be translated into 27 volumes," he told a seminar titled "Determining the Policy Regarding the Bengali Translation of the Fatawa-e-Darul Uloom Deoband," held at the Islamic Foundation (IF) auditorium in the capital's Agargaon, where he attended as the chief guest.

The religious adviser said, "The translation work is very significant and sensitive. In this case, instead of a literal translation, accuracy and timeliness must be ensured."

He hoped that the smooth translation of the Fatawa-e-Darul Uloom Deoband into Bengali would serve as an important guideline for the pious Muslims of the country.

Islamic Foundation Director General A. S. Salam Khan presided over the seminar.

Governors of the IF Board-Alhaj Maulana Md Nesarul Haque, Syed Mohammad Mosaddek Billah Al Madani, and Maulana Mahfuzul Haque-also addressed the seminar as special guests, among others.
