DMP bans meeting, rallies surrounding Jamuna, Bangladesh Secretariat

DHAKA, May 10, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on public gatherings, processions, and rallies in the areas surrounding the official residence of the Chief Adviser, Jamuna and Bangladesh Secretariat, effective from today until further notice.

In a public notice issued by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali, the restriction has been imposed under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance, 1976, to ensure the security of the Chief Adviser.

The ban also covers key locations, including Hotel Intercontinental intersection, Kakrail Mosque intersection, Officers' Club intersection, and Mintoo Road, among others.
