River ports asked to hoist cautionary signal no- 1

DHAKA, May 13, 2025 (BSS) – River ports have been asked to hoist cautionary signal number one as rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary west/north-westerly gusty or squally wind is likely to occur in different parts of the country.

The warning for inland river ports will remain valid till 6:00 pm today, according to a bulletin issued by Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) here today.

“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary w/nw’ly gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Rangpur, Dinajpur, Mymensing, Tangail, Cumilla, Noakhali, Barishal and Sylhet wherein river ports shall hoist cautionary signal no one," the Met office bulletin said.
