Sacrificial animal waste to be removed within 12 hrs: adviser

DHAKA, May 26, 2025 (BSS) - Adviser for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan has said all the wastages of sacrificial animals will be removed within 12 after and all preparations in this regard have been taken.

"Although, the home adviser said, the qurbani will continue for three days and 90 percent animals will be slaughtered on the first day, we have asked for quick disposal of the wastages."

"The administrators of the city corporations have said that all wastages would be removed within 12 hours and all preparations have been taken for this," the adviser said in a Facebook post.

In another post the LGRD adviser said the government has started action against the online gambling. Process is underway to close more than one thousand accounts related to the gambling. He urged all to report quickly if they have information about any gambling account and their bank account.

Gambling is prohibited on the cyber space, he said noting that the government has banned gambling and all the activities related to gambling as per article 20 under the new cyber safety ordinance with an objective of protecting the interest of the people.

Creating or operating of any portal/apps/device for gambling, cooperate or encourage people to participate, direct or indirect involvement with the ads on gambling is a punishable crime under the act.
