RAB arrests accused driver in Jhenaidah murder case

KHULNA, Nov 10, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-6, CPC-2, Jhenaidah Camp have arrested the accused driver in a murder case filed under the Road Transport Act.
        
Acting on a tip-off, a special team from the RAB conducted an operation in the Garaganj Bazar area under Shailkupa Police Station in Jhenaidah District on Sunday and arrested Md. Kajol Sheikh, 35, son of Dudu Mia, a resident of Ibrahimpur village of the same upazila, said in a RAB-6 press release today morning.

According to the preliminary investigation, Kajol Sheikh was driving a Golden Line Paribahan bus recklessly yesterday morning when it hit an easybike coming from the opposite direction. The collision caused the easybike to crash into a roadside ditch, leaving a woman Sohagi Khatun, 50, dead on the spot.

Following the incident, the victim's son, Md Ohab Ali, filed a case with Harinakundu Police Station, accusing the bus driver of causing killed by reckless driving.

The arrested accused was handed over to Harinakundu Police Station for further legal action, the RAB press release added.
