KHULNA, Nov 10, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) has arrested Dip Pande, a leader of the district unit of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and an accomplice of District Awami League president Sheikh Harunur Rashid.

Police arrested him from the Farazipara area of the city on Sunday night, the DB sources said.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulna DB Taimur Islam said acting on a tip-off, a special team conducted a drive and arrested Dip Pande while he was trying to reorganize activists of the banned BCL ahead of possible subversive activities on November 13 in the capital.

"Preliminary investigation suggests he had been in hiding since the fall of the fascist Awami League regime and was holding secret meetings to plan acts of sabotage," the OC said.

He added that the arrested leader was taken to the DB office for interrogation and would be produced before the court today.
