1.5 lakh cops to be trained for polls preparation from Sept

DHAKA, July 28, 2025 (BSS) - About 1.5 lakh policemen will be trained from September for the upcoming general elections, Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said today.

"As part of the preparations for the upcoming polls, 1.5 lakh policemen will be trained in the three months of September, October and November," he told a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy here after a review meeting on the law and order situation and the preparations of law enforcers for the upcoming parliamentary elections. 

The meeting was held at the State Guest House Jamuna here with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair. A detailed discussion was also held at the meeting.

About the outcomes of the meeting, Alam said emphasis has been given on strengthening coordination among law enforcing agencies ahead of the elections.

He also mentioned that 60,000 army personnel will be deployed during the polls.
