Govt's Boro collection hits historic high

DHAKA, Aug 18, 2025 (BSS) - The government has achieved a record-breaking milestone in the domestic Boro procurement programme 2025, which concluded on August 15.

 The procurement targets were set at 3.50 lakh tonnes of paddy, 14 lakh tonnes of parboiled rice, and 50,000 tonnes of atap rice, according to a press release issued today.
 

The actual collection exceeded expectations, with 3.76 lakh 942 tonnes of paddy (107.69%), 14.06 lakh 533 tonnes of parboiled rice (100.46%), and 51,307 tonnes of atap rice (102.21%).
