BIFF, South Korea introduces ‘July Memorial Prize’

DHAKA, Aug 19, 2025 (BSS) - A new international film award named ‘July Memorial Prize’ has been launched at the world-renowned film fair ‘Busan International Film Festival (BIFF)’ in Busan, South Korea.

The BIFF is set to debut at its 30th anniversary edition from September 19 to 25 in Busan, South Korea, said a notification of the ministry today.

The award will be presented to the winning filmmaker on the closing day of this year’s festival, it said.

The ‘July Memorial Prize’ will be awarded to one film from among the competing films in the ‘Vision Asia’ section of the Busan Film Festival, sponsored by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

The prize will be given to a worthy film made on the theme of social justice, freedom of speech and expression, civil rights or the fight against inequality.
