Martyr Mugdha's brother Snigdha joins BNP

DHAKA, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) - Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdha, twin brother of July Mass Uprising martyr Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdha, has joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

He formally joined the party on Tuesday night at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan after collecting and submitting the new membership form to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman joined the event virtually.

Among others present on the occasion were BNP Standing Committee Members Nazrul Islam Khan and Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Convener of Dhaka North City BNP Aminul Haque, and Snigdha's father Mostafizur Rahman.

Snigdha was the Chief Executive Officer of the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation, formed in the context of the anti-discrimination student movement. He resigned from the post on May 8 this year.
