DHAKA, Aug, 20, 2025 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) will publish the draft list of polling centres for upcoming Jatiya Sangsad elections on September 10.

Ahead of the 13th National Election, a letter regarding the issue, signed by Deputy Secretary Md Mahbub Alam Shah, was sent to district election officers.

According to the letter, ‘Polling Centre Establishment and Management Guidelines–2025’ was approved by the EC for the upcoming national parliamentary elections.

It said the guidelines were published in the supplementary issue of the Bangladesh Gazette on June 26, 2025.

According to article 8 (1) and (2) of the Representation of the People Order, 1972, the list of polling centres for a national parliamentary election must be published in the gazette’s supplementary issue 25 days in advance for preservation and finalization.

The letter said, on the occasion of the 13th national election, the EC directed to prepare the final list by receiving claims or objections regarding the draft list, and resolve them according to the guidelines.

The deadline for submitting objections or claims regarding the draft is September 25, and their settlement will be completed by October 12, while the final list of polling centres will be published on October 20.

The EC added that, following the polling centre guidelines, it had issued instructions to determine polling centres and polling stations for the election.

The letter also directed that, following the schedule and guidelines, all necessary actions should be taken and the numerical data of draft and possible final polling centres (including soft copies) should be sent to the Election Support–1 branch via the respective regional election officer within the prescribed dates.
