DHAKA, Sept 5, 2025 (BSS) - The government has formed a three-member inquiry commission headed by a High Court (HC) division judge Justice Md. Ali Reza to investigate the attack on Gono Odhikar Parishad President and former Vice President of DUCSU Nurul Haque Nur.

The Cabinet Division last night issued a notification to this end.

The Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry and the Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division have been made members of the commission.

The commission has been asked to submit an investigation report to the government within 30 working days from the date of issuance of the notification.

The government, under the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1956, has formed the inquiry commission to investigate the attack that left Nur critically injured.

Nur has been undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The Chief Adviser has already ordered to send Nur abroad for improved treatment.

The commission has been entrusted with identifying the individuals responsible for the attack on Nur on August 29 and making recommendations on taking legal action against them.

The commission will also recommend ways to prevent such undesirable incidents in the future.
