DMP files 1,665 cases against traffic rule violations

DHAKA, Nov 24, 2025 (BSS) – As part of the ongoing campaign, Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 1,665 cases against vehicles, owners and its drivers for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.

Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman said that the DMP filed those cases and realized the money on Sunday (November 23) through their regular drives against the traffic rule breakers.

He said that the DMP traffic police dumped 379 motor vehicles and towed 95 vehicles during the campaign for traffic rule violations.

According the press release, several teams of the DMP traffic division have been working to bring traffic system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.

The release further said that campaign against traffic rule violators will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets.

Motijheel traffic division filed 345 cases, Wari division registered 150 cases, Tejgaon division filed 266 cases, Mirpur division filed 135 cases, Gulshan division filed 231 cases, Uttara division registered 271 cases, Ramna division filed 122 cases and Lalbagh division registered 145 cases against motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles, it said.
