BB chief for strengthening agriculture sector for prosperous future

COX'S BAZAR, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur today laid emphasis on further strengthen the agricultural sector to build a prosperous future for the country.

"Agriculture must be advanced on a sustainable path through entrepreneurs' skills, the ability to use technology, and financial support," he said.

Mansur made these remarks as the chief guest at a day-long training workshop titled 'Agricultural Entrepreneur Gathering and Skill Development', organized by United Commercial Bank Limited (UCBL) at a conference hall of a hotel in Cox's Bazar town.

UCBL Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid presided over the event.

Highlighting the immense role of agriculture in the national economy, the governor stressed the importance of creating entrepreneurs, developing skills, and providing financial patronage in the agricultural sector.

He noted that the country's banking sector can play a crucial role in this regard.
