Govt stands by those working for people's welfare: Azam

KHULNA, Oct 10, 2025 (BSS) - Disaster Management and Relief, and Liberation War Affairs Adviser Faruk-E-Azam, Bir Protik, has said the government always stands beside those who work for the welfare of the people.

"This country belongs to all of us. You are the ones entrusted with responsibilities and authority to serve the people. Use your power for the wellbeing of the people, and the government will support you," he said while addressing a view exchange meeting in the district last night.

Chaired by Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md Firoz Sarkar, the meeting was held at the Khulna District Shilpakala Academy auditorium with field-level officials involved in disaster management.

"We can make this country more capable and resilient. The Mass Uprising of 2024 has created that opportunity for us. Bangladesh is a disaster-prone country, but with proper planning and policies, we can successfully overcome these challenges. We are working to make that a reality," the Adviser added.

Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Md Mostafizur Rahman and Director General of the Department of Disaster Management Rezwanur Rahman attended the meeting as special guests, while Khulna Deputy Commissioner Md Tawfiqur Rahman delivered the welcome speech.

Among others, Jashore Deputy Commissioner Md Azaharul Islam, Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Mostaq Ahmed and Kushtia Deputy Commissioner Abu Hasan Mohammad Arefin also spoke at the event.

Officials from all ten districts under the Khulna division, including deputy commissioners, UNOs, district relief and rehabilitation officers and upazila project implementation officers, participated in the meeting.
