Chiefs of three services meet CA, discuss election preparations

DHAKA, Nov 1, 2025 (BSS) – Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today gave necessary directives to chiefs of the three services to take all out preparations to ensure foolproof security for peaceful holding of the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election to be held in the first half of February next year.

The Chief Adviser gave the directives as Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan met him at the State Guest House Jamuna here this evening.

National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman was present at the meeting, said a press release of the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.

During the meeting, Professor Yunus appreciated the armed forces for their tireless efforts in maintaining national security as well as law and order across the country.

“Members of all forces, including the army, have worked very hard to maintain law and order in the country over the past 15 months,” he said, adding, “The interim government is committed to holding the upcoming election in the first half of February in a free, fair, neutral, peaceful, and festive manner”.

At the meeting, the chiefs of three services informed the Chief Adviser about the preparations being taken by their respective forces for the election. 

They said around 90,000 army personnel, more than 2,500 navy members, and 1500 air force personnel will be deployed across the country to maintain law and order during the polls while one army company will be deployed in each upazila.

The chiefs of the three services invited the Chief Adviser to attend the Armed Forces Day programme on November 21.
