32,000 headmaster posts vacant in primary schools: Bidhan

TANGAIL, Nov 23, 2025 (BSS) - Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar today said nearly 32,000 headmaster posts are vacant in primary schools in the country, which is creating a major obstacle in school management. 

He told reporters after inaugurating the newly constructed playground of Bagbari Choubari Government Primary School in Katuli Union of Tangail Sadar Upazila.

The adviser said that a large-scale teacher recruitment notice has already been published to address the teacher crisis. 

He expressed hope that this will make the primary education system in the country more dynamic. 

Dr Bidhan said that schools cannot be closed in uncertain situations like an earthquake. Earthquakes can happen at any time, so it is not panic but caution and preparation that is most important now, he added. 

Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque, Tangail Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahin Mia and officials from various departments were present at the event.
