DHAKA, Nov 23, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital tonight for health checkups.

Professor AZM Zahid Hossain, her personal physician as well as a member of her medical team, told reporters around 8 pm that the decision was taken on the recommendation of the medical board formed for her treatment.

"Madam has been admitted to Evercare Hospital for several tests as advised by the board. She is now in a cabin. The board will review the test reports before taking further decisions," he said.

Khaleda Zia was last admitted to the hospital on October 15 for routine health examinations and was discharged the following day after completing necessary tests.

The 79-year-old former Prime Minister has been suffering from health complications, including arthritis, diabetes, kidney ailments, lung conditions and eye problems.
