Tarique Rahman meets Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at his residence

DHAKA, Feb 15, 2026 (BSS) – BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today met Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman at his residence in the city’s Bashundhara residential area. 
 
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman welcomed Tarique Rahman by presenting him with a bouquet of flowers when he reached the Jamaat Ameer’s political office at his residence in Bashundhara Residential Area this evening to hold a meeting.

During the meeting, they exchanged pleasantries.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, Jamaat's Naib-e-Ameer Abdullah Mohammad Taher and Assistant Secretary General Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer were present.

After staying at the Jamaat Ameer’s residence for about an hour, Tarique Rahman left the place at 7:59pm.

The BNP achieved a landslide victory in the 13th parliamentary election. In the election, Jamaat-e-Islami, the BNP's former alliance partner, secured the second-highest number of seats.

During a press conference on Saturday afternoon, Tarique Rahman called upon everyone to remain united. He also conveyed the message of running the country by involving political parties in building a fascism-free democratic Bangladesh.
