No carelessness will be accepted in public services : Ariful Huq

DHAKA, March 4,2026 (BSS) – Labour and Employment Minister Ariful Huq Chowdhury today warned that no negligence will be accepted in the public service.

“To ensure public services, every body should  perform their duty with due consciousness and integrity”, he said.

The minister made this remarks as the chief guest while addressing in exchange of views meeting with the official and employees of different agencies under the labour and employment ministry at Shrama Bhaban at city’s Bijoy Nagar Area here.

The minister urged the concerned officials to provide workers harassment free services after ensuring personal responsibility in every stage during this time.

Huq said although most of the people of the country are labour and working class, but we are using manual system instead of online facilities for providing public assistance or services to the working peoples which is very much unfortunate.

The minister also gave directives for preparing a full-fledged roaster quickly of the beneficiaries of 32 labour welfare centres for development of the services.
At the same time, he also emphasized on enhancing the technological capacity and reviews the progress of all the ongoing development works including information technology sector of the labour directorate.

Terming the child labour as the heinous crime, labour and employment secretary M Abdur Rahman Tarafdar said all should to work for preventing this crime.

Director General of the Department of Labour Fahmida Akhter, Inspector general of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments Omar Md Imrul Mohsin, Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation Director General M Munir Hossain Khan and officials and employees of different agencies under the labour ministry, among others, attended the meeting.
