US Secretary of State greets Bangladesh on Independence Day

DHAKA, March 26, 2026 (BSS) - US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has congratulated the people of Bangladesh on the occasion of Independence Day, reaffirming Washington’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and partnership.
 
In a press statement, Rubio said, “On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Bangladesh on your Independence Day.”
 
“This commemoration arrives as Bangladesh begins a new chapter in its history, following recent elections,” he said.
 
The US Secretary of State noted that the United States values its longstanding partnership with Bangladesh, anchored in a shared vision for a free, open, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific.
 
“We look forward to strengthening our economic and security partnership for the benefit of both of our people,” he added.
 
“As Bangladesh celebrates this momentous occasion, the United States remains committed to deepening our relationship and sends its warmest regards,” Rubio said.
