DHAKA, Mar 26, 2026 (BSS)- The government has conferred honorary commission on nine Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) of the Bangladesh Navy on the occasion of Great Independence and National Day 2026.

The recipients—holding the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer (MCPO)—have been promoted to the honorary rank of Sub-Lieutenant with effect from March 26, 2026, an ISPR press release said today.

The officers who received the honorary commissions are: Khandakar Jahangir Alam, Md Nazrul Islam, H M Abdul Jalil, Shah Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman, Md Saiful Islam Pradhan, Hawlader Mohammad Hannan, Md Samiul Haque, Md Nuruzzaman, and Md Din Islam.
