Farmer cards to be distributed in 10 districts on Apr 14

DHAKA, Apr 09, 2026 (BSS) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is expected to launch the farmer cards on pilot basis in 10 districts including Tangail on ‘Pahela Boishakh” (April 14) marking the Bangla New Year 1433.
  
Farmer cards, a digital initiative of the government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to streamline agricultural support. 

It provides landless, small, and marginal farmers direct access to subsidies, loans, and agricultural inputs, aiming to remove intermediaries and ensure fair pricing. 
The programme will be implemented by the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) under the Ministry of Agriculture.

Under the programme each landless, marginal and small farmers will receive an average subsidy or agricultural inputs of Taka 2,500 as financial grants.
