DHAKA, April 9, 2026 (BSS) -High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to Bangladesh, Sarah Cooke today paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister's Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam.

The meeting was attended by a four-member delegation led by the UK High Commissioner at the Defence Adviser's Office in the Armed Forces Division at Dhaka Cantonment, said an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate press release this noon.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged greetings and discussed opportunities to further enhance defence cooperation between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom. 

They also discussed ways to maintain and strengthen the existing military ties between the two countries, the ISPR release added.
