DHAKA, May 7, 2026 (BSS) – The second session, also the budget session, of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad will begin on June 7.

"The second session of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad will start at 3pm at the Sangsad Bhaban in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the city," said a parliament secretariat release here today.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin has convened the session exercising the power bestowed upon him as per the Article 72 (1) of the Constitution.

The session will mainly complete the procedure of presenting and passing the national budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 (FY27). 

Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury is expected to present the first budget of the BNP government that came to power on February 17 following a landslide victory in the February 12 general election. 

The national budget for FY27 is likely to pass on June 30.
The parliament secretariat has stated proceedings of taking necessary steps to hold the session properly. 

The BG press has been asked to publish gazette notification and at the same time, the secretariat also asked the department concerned to give necessary directives to Sangsad Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar, newspapers and other news media to circulate the information.
