DHAKA, May 9, 2026 (BSS) – Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman today urged the judges to ensure justice by choosing the right path in delivering verdicts from a sense of responsibility.

“You, who are serving as judges should always try to make the right decisions. On behalf of the government, we are saying — ensure justice, and we are beside you,” he added.

The law minister made the remarks while addressing the inaugural function of the 20th Orientation Course for Additional District and Sessions Judges as the chief guest at the Judicial Administration Training Institute (JATI) complex in the capital this morning.

He said the government wants that the people’s confidence on judges to grow stronger.
“The people have given us the mandate...You will always find the government beside you for the sake of establishing justice in society,” he added.

Referring to the prime minister’s vision, he said, “Our honourable prime minister often says something that we have started following all the time. He says our place of work is about responsibility and making the right decisions, not about popularity. Therefore, in every situation, we must always choose the right path.”

Mentioning that he is not worried at all about the tenure of his position, the law minister said he remains fully aware of his limitations at every moment.

“I have never stepped back, nor will I ever step back, from the place of making the right decisions in the responsibility entrusted to me,” he added.

The minister also said any form of corruption would not be tolerated and urged judges to remain vigilant in this regard.

“If we fail to do so, then the struggle to move this institution forward and the long-standing efforts we all made together to create a field of justice for the people of Bangladesh will not be achieved. The rule of law and human rights will also fail,” he said.

“We do not want that our next generation has to carry the burden of our failure in future,” Md Asaduzzaman added.

With Director General of JATI Md Emdadul Haque in the chair, Members of the Law Commission, trainees of the workshop, officials and employees of the Bangladesh Judicial Administration and Training Institute and media personnel were present, among others, at the event.
