Schoolboy killed in Magura road accident

MAGURA, May 9, 2026 (BSS) - A schoolboy was killed in a road accident on Langalbad Road under Goyeshpur Union in Sreepur upazila of the district last night.

The deceased was identified as Sadikul Islam, 13, son of Md. Rashedul Islam alias Ranjhu of Notun Bhuktomalithia village under Shailkupa upazila in Jhenaidah district. He was a seventh-grade student of Langalbad Secondary School.

According to local sources, the accident occurred around 8:30 pm when Sadikul was heading towards Tikarbila from Langalbad Bazar riding a bicycle. At that time, a speeding motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, reportedly lost control and hit the bicycle, leaving him critically injured.

Locals rescued the boy and rushed him to Magura Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Magura Sadar Police Station Md. Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the matter.

After completion of legal formalities, the body was handed over to the victim's family members, OC said.
