President, PM offer Eid-ul-Azha prayers at National Eidgah

DHAKA, May 28, 2026 (BSS) – President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman  offered Eid-ul-Azha prayers along with hundreds of devotees at National Eidgah here this morning.

They offered the prayers in the day’s first Eid congregation held at 7:30 am at the national Eidgah ground, President’s Press Wing said today.

After the namaj they joined a munajat with the devotees seeking blessings of the almighty for Muslim Ummah as well the nation.

Chief Justice, cabinet members, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator, judges of the Supreme Court and High Court, parliament members, political leaders, diplomats, and high-ranking civil and military officials joined the Eid jamaat.

Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Mufti Muhammad Abdul Malek conducted the Eid prayers.
 
A special munajat, seeking divine blessings for peace, progress, and prosperity of Bangladesh, as well as the welfare of its people and the Muslim Ummah, was offered after the prayers.

After the prayers at the Eidgah, the President exchanged Eid greetings with the Premier and his cabinet colleagues as well as a cross section of people.

Like previous years, the Eid congregation at the national Eidgah ground was held under the supervision of DSCC. A special arrangement was also been made for women devotees at the national Eidgah.

Meanwhile, an intensified security measure has been taken in and around the Eidgah premises.
