PM visits parents' graves, offers prayer

DHAKA, May 28, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today visited the graves of his parents at Zia Uddyan and offered munajat on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Azha.

He also visited the grave of his younger brother Arafat Rahman Koko at Banani graveyard and offered prayer there.

After attending Eid prayers at the National Eidgah, the Prime Minister and his wife Zubaida Rahman arrived at the gravesite of his parents at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the city.

At first, the Prime Minister and his wife recited the fateha and offered prayer at the grave.

Then, Tarique Rahman along with his party leaders recited the fateha at the graves and participated in a special prayer. Later, he along with the leaders placed wreaths at the graves. 

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Social Welfare Minister AZM Zahid Hossain, Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Prime Minister’s Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam, State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md Safiqul Islam Khan and SM Jahangir, MP, were present, among others, on the occasion.

Later, the Prime Minister went to the grave of his younger brother Arafat Rahman Koko in Banani.
