RAJSHAHI, May 28, 2026 (BSS) - The holy Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated at Rajshahi University (RU) today with  traditional  enthusiasm and   due religious fervour.

The Eid prayer congregation was held at 7:30 am at the Central Jame Mosque.   Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Faridul Islam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Mamunur Rashid, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Md. Abdul Alim, Treasurer Professor Md.

Matiar Rahman, Proctor Professor Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Student Adviser Professor Md. Amirul Islam, along with other senior administrative officials and distinguished teachers attended the Eid Jamaat.

After the prayer, the traditional Eid embracing and exchange of greetings took place.

As a special arrangement this year, chocolates, juice, sweets and other favourite foods were arranged for children, which added a new attraction to their Eid joy.

It is noted that, like previous years, separate prayer arrangements were made for women at the RU Central Jame Mosque for the Eid congregation.

After the Eid prayer, the Vice-Chancellor said in his speech that Eid-ul-Azha is one of the major festivals. Eid-ul-Azha teaches the Muslim community people to attain the satisfaction of the Almighty through the greatness of sacrifice.

Eid builds bonds of cordiality and harmony among the Muslim community. Such a harmonious environment is greatly needed to bring stability to society. May this joy of Eid return to life again and again.
