
DHAKA, June 2, 2026 (BSS) - A delegation of senior officials from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) left for China today to participate in a training programme.
The 15-member delegation departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2pm on a China Eastern Airlines flight.
Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said the delegation members are travelling to attend the training programme organised with the support of the Chinese government and the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka.
He said the training programme will be held in Kunming, Yunnan Province, and will continue until June 8.
The delegation includes Director General of the NGO Affairs Bureau under the Prime Minister’s Office Mohammad Zakaria, Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon, Prime Minister’s Private Secretary-1 Mohammad Mamun Shibly, Prime Minister’s Private Secretary-2 Mehedul Islam, PMO Directors Monirul Islam Patwari, Anwar Ul Halim, Mohammad Nasir Uddin Sarwar and Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Prime Minister’s Protocol Officer-1 Md. Uzzal Hossain, Prime Minister’s Assignment Officer-2 SM Parvez, Prime Minister’s Research Officer Abdus Sattar Patwari, and Tariq Hasan, Private Secretary to Prime Minister's Adviser Ismail Zabihullah.
Other officials in the delegation are Julia Moin, Jesmin Akter and Mohammad Jabbar.
Speaking at a reception held in Dhaka yesterday ahead of the training programme, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen said high-level communication and cooperation between Bangladesh and China have been further strengthened in recent times.
He said the training programme would play a significant role in enhancing bilateral relations and exchanging experiences between the two countries.
The ambassador expressed hope that, upon completion of the training, the participating officials would be able to apply the knowledge gained from China's development and modernization experience to Bangladesh’s development.
