Anam urges BCSIR to make its innovations available to people

DHAKA, June 2, 2026 (BSS) - Science and Technology Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam said the outcomes and innovations produced through scientific and industrial research must be made available to the public. 

He emphasized that the research-based products and achievements of Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) should be showcased to local young entrepreneurs.

The minister made these remarks today while visiting BCSIR in Dhaka and exchanging views with its officials.

Anam further said that the resources and innovations developed through BCSIR’s research must be commercialized and brought to market. 

He asked the officers and employees of the organization to work sincerely toward implementing the current government's election manifesto.

Science and Technology Secretary Md. Anwar Hossain spoke as  special guest.

BCSIR chairman Dr. Samina Ahmed, its members, directors of its affiliated institutes, and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.

Later, the minister visited the BCSIR exhibition floor, where he inspected samples of products developed by the organization’s 12 units. He also visited BCSIR’s mobile van.

Later, the minister addressed another meeting with BCSIR scientists as the chief guest. In his speech, he assured the scientists that their various professional demands and concerns would be addressed in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.
