DHAKA, June 25, 2026 (BSS) - The Ministry of Religious Affairs has urged
prospective pilgrims and the general public to remain cautious about Hajj-
related promotional activities conducted by unauthorized agencies, groups or
Kafela.

A letter to this effect was issued today by the ministry's Hajj-3 branch and
drew the attention of intending Hajj pilgrims and the public, saying some
unauthorized agencies, groups and Kafela are attempting to lure prospective
pilgrims by advertising attractive Hajj packages through Facebook and other
social media platforms.

The letter said that, in reality, no agency, agent, group or Kafela other
than government-approved, licensed and enlisted qualified Hajj agencies is
permitted to conduct Hajj activities and it is not possible to perform Hajj
through such unauthorized entities.

The ministry particularly requested all concerned not to engage in any Hajj-
related financial transactions with any agency, travel agent, group or Kafela
other than the qualified Hajj agencies enlisted by the Ministry of Religious
Affairs.

The letter also said that the Hajj package and guidelines for 2027 will be
announced soon and urged all concerned to follow the officially published
Hajj package and guidelines.
