
DHAKA, June 25, 2026 (BSS)- Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam has reaffirmed Bangladesh's commitment to building an inclusive and citizen-friendly digital government.
He outlined Bangladesh's future plan on inclusive Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and ensuring public participation in government services.The minister was addressing a high-level roundtable meeting of the United Nations Public Service Forum 2026 held in Tbilisi, Georgia, a ministry press release said here today.
Faqir Mahbub said, DPI is not merely a matter of technology for Bangladesh; rather it is one of the key instruments of good governance. Our goal is to ensure that a
citizen living in a remote area can access government services like urban people.
He said the current government, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is committed to establishing a ‘digital-first’ system of governance.
Faqir Mahbub Anam said citizens are currently able to access the same government services through the government payment platform EkPay, myGov' app, National Information Portal or directly through the 333 helpline.
He also said the government is working with a goal to ensure affordable and quality internet access and smart devices for all within next three years.
Referring to the measures taken to get public feedback, the minister said citizens are able to directly submit opinions and complaints through the Cabinet Division's Grievance Redress System (GRS) and e-Participation system.
He also said there are plans to introduce an e-Participation Ranking in the future to further strengthen accountability of government institutions.
