DHAKA, Jan 2, 2025 (BSS)- Annual book fair under the auspices of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) begins on January 5.  

Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed will inaugurate the 10-day fair on the premises of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).

SCBA president Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin will preside over the inaugural ceremony while acting secretary Md Mahfuzur Rahman (Milon) will conduct the function.

This year the fair will have 48 stalls to sell books on different subjects, especially on law legal reference, politics and children’s literature, said SCBA administrative officer Md Rabiul Hasan.

Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon said the book fair on the Supreme Court premises began in 2015 when he was the secretary of the association.

The legal profession is an intellectual job and book is an integral part of this job. This fair is very helpful for lawyers in collecting their professional books, he said.

This initiative has further enhanced the prestige of the SCBA and lawyers of the apex court are becoming benefited greatly from this fair,” he said.
