BRUR VC for creating attractive learning environment at residential halls

RANGPUR, Jan 07, 2025 (BSS) – Vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr Md Showkat has said that the present administration is working to create a beautiful learning environment for students at the residential halls. 
 
“Different services, including salons and laundry, will be started within the campus for the residential students very soon,” he said.
 
The Vice-chancellor said this  at the inauguration ceremony of the room allocation programme for the university's residential students at the university's Shaheed Mukhtar Elahi Residential Hall today.
 
He also said that students must maintain a creative mindset to build a prosperous country and nation. 
 
“For this, students need to be active in various extracurricular activities along with regular academic studies,” he said. 
 
In the ceremony, the Vice-chancellor officially allocated rooms among 85 residential students of the university through lottery in Shaheed Mukhtar Elahi Hall.
 
University officials said the university administration has decided to allocate rooms in the residential hall on the basis of a lottery for the first time. The process of providing residence to students in the said hall will continue in this way in the future. 
 
In providing residence to students in Shaheed Mukhtar Elahi Hall, priority has been given to students based on the academic results of the university, distance from the residence to the campus, economic status and students with special needs. 
 
Shaheed Mukhtar Elahi Hall Provost Professor Dr Md Kamruzzaman presided over the event moderated by Assistant Provost Taha Hussaine.
 
BRUR Registrar Dr Md Harun-or Rashid, Proctor Dr Md Ferdous Rahman and Assistant Provosts of Shaheed Mukhtar Elahi Hall and students were present.
