KHULNA, Jan 24, 2025 (BSS) - Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started investigation into the irregularities and corruption committed by the ousted mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC), Talukder Abdul Khaleque.

The ACC started the investigate on Thursday and has given letters to KCC, income tax office and other offices concerned seeking information about Khaleque and his wife Habibun Nahar and other associates.

Abdul Wadud, Deputy Director of ACC, told BSS that they have started the investigation formally after receiving a letter from their head office in Dhaka.

"We need information about his associates to investigate the corruption of former mayor Talukder Khaleque," he said.

For this reason, they have given a letter to KCC to get information about the contractors as business partners of Khaleque, he added.
