Two held with 2,000 yaba tablets from city's Motijheel

DHAKA, Jan 24, 2025 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a drive today arrested two drug peddlers with 2,000 pieces of yaba from city’s  Motijheel area.

The arrested were identified as Md Jamir Uddin, 45 and Md Alamgir, 41, said in a DMP press release.


Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB-Gulshan Division conducted a raid on an area adjacent to Fakirapul Kacha Bazar under Motijheel police station around 1pm and nabbed the duo with yaba.

During the initial quizzing, they admitted their involvement in dealing illegal drugs, police said.  

The process of filing a case under the Narcotics Control Act with Motijheel Police Station is underway, the release added.
