SAVAR, Feb 7, 2025 (BSS) - The long-awaited elections for the Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (JUCSU) and its hall units are expected to take place by late May this year.

"Before the elections, some essential reforms must be made to amend the JUCSU constitution and restore a fair electoral environment. Completing the reform process will take some time. Therefore, we have decided to hold the JUCSU election by May 21," said JU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kamrul Ahsan in front of the university's new administrative building around 11:30 pm yesterday.

Following the fall of the Awami League-led government, students of the university, under the banner of various organizations, have been demanding JUCSU elections.
