Asif Nazrul mourns death of ex-CEC Justice Abdur Rouf

DHAKA, Feb 9, 2025 (BSS) - Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr 
Asif Nazrul has expressed deep shock and grief at the death of former Chief 
Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Mohammad Abdur Rouf.
 
Justice Rouf, also the father of additional attorney general Mohammad 
Arshadur Rouf, died of old-age complications at a city hospital on Sunday at 
10 am at the age of 91.
 
In a message of condolence, Asif Nazrul prayed for the eternal peace of the 
departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family, an official 
release said.
 
Justice Mohammad Abdur Rouf, a former Appellate Division judge, served as the 
country's fifth CEC from December 25, 1990 to April 18, 1995.
