Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The ACC in its plea said a case has been filed against the former health minister under section 27 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004, sections 4 (2) and 4 (3) of the Money Laundering Prevention Act, 2012, and section 5 (2) of The Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.

The anti-graft body further said a case has also been filed against Rahat Maleque under section 27 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004, sections 4 (2) and 4 (3) of the Money Laundering Prevention Act, 2012, section 5 (2) of The Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947, and section 109 of the penal code.

"For the sake of proper investigation of the case, their tax files should be frozen," the ACC said.
