Control traffic jam properly for better Dhaka: Addl Com Sarwar

DHAKA, Feb 9, 2025 (BSS) - Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. 
Sarwar of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today called upon the police to 
devote themselves to control traffic properly on the roads for building a 
better Dhaka. 

"Traffic jams in the capital city affect the country's economy. Therefore, 
the more traffic jams can be reduced by controlling traffic properly, it's 
possible to make Dhaka a better city," he said.

He made the remarks while inspecting the master parade of the DMP Traffic 
Ramna, Motijheel, Lalbagh and Wari divisions at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police 
Lines ground in Rajarbagh today. 

"Duties must be carried out with professionalism and patience in maintaining 
order and controlling vehicles on the city streets," Sarwar said.

He also said that police should address appropriately and behave well with the 
public in accordance with the dress code. 

Mentioning that police members face many challenges in performing traffic 
duties, he said they should face all those challenges and perform their 
duties with dedication.

Various steps are being taken for the welfare of DMP traffic police members, 
he added. 

DMP Joint Police Commissioner (Traffic-South) Mohammad Kamruzzaman and other 
police members including senior officers of various ranks of the Traffic 
Division were present at the time.

Assistant Police Commissioner of Traffic-Demra Zone Md. Mostain Billah 
Ferdous and Assistant Police Inspector of Traffic-Wari Division Mizanur 
Rahman led the master parade.
