2nd phase of Ijtema for Saad followers to begin Feb 14

GAZIPUR, Feb 9, 2025 (BSS) - The district administration today handed over the Tongi Ijtema ground to the followers of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi for holding the second phase of the Bishwa Ijtema from February 14 to 16.

"Following the completion of the first phase of the Ijtema, the ground was handed over to the followers of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi today for the second phase," Gazipur Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Md Wahid Hossain told newsmen after handing over the ground this noon. 

He said the second phase of the Ijtema will begin on February 14 while it will end on February 16 following the Akheri Munajat (final prayer), adding that after completion of the second phase, the ground will be handed over to the district administrator again on February 18.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police Hafizul Islam and Regional Executive Officer of Gazipur City Corporation Firoz Al Mamun were present during the handover of the Ijtema ground.

Among the followers of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi, Engineer Shah Md Muhibbullah, Dr Rezaul Karim, Dr Abdus Salam, Media Coordinator Mohammad Sayem, Haji Manir Hossain, Abdul Hannan, Bashir Ahmed Sikder, Harun Or Rashid, Siraj Shikder, Asadullah, Md Millat Hossain, Md Aslam and Mohammad Hossain were present on the occasion.
